I used to go to Midem, a music festival in Cannes, France. It was like the Cannes film festival except for music so I went to promote my music and also as a French translator for certain record labels. We would rent a chateau-like large home with numerous rooms and bathrooms. It was a lot of fun and I ended up meeting tons of people in the music industry.
One time a record label asked me to travel to Paris with them since I knew the town and the language. Well, against my intuition I went. The thing was, I hadn’t been eating well and I was tired….. so I fainted on the plane. What? Anyway, the flight attendant asked me if my heart was hurting and of course I misunderstood thinking (yes my heart aches to go home and see my cat). She was speaking French and I was out of it. Hahahhaha She then thought I might be having a heart attack. What? Long story short, I really realized that I needed to consistently follow my intuition and take care of myself…..another big lesson along my spiritual journey.
Fast forward, to my next band ‘North Green’ where we had some nice success. We had numerous song placements on ‘The Gilmore Girls’, a popular TV show a few years back. I really started to feel like things were coming together with my music. But it wasn’t until I started going to Agape International Center and met Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith that life started to make sense. My music started to really take a spiritual twist and lo and behold I’m kicked out of my band. AH!! Really? Hahahahahhaa!! …..All of this to tell you that no matter what, I’m on a spiritual musical journey that is full of wonder and surprise. Once you make a commitment to spiritual growth and unfoldment some things may fall away as other things come in. It is a life filled with grace and gratitude. Sometimes I feel like a phoenix rising. I even wrote a song called ‘Phoenix Rise’. It’s available on my album ‘Churches & Prisons. much love…
